6 JAN 26 FRA # 90 First visit of the year at the VA Hospital

On January 6, members of FRA # 90 organized the 1ST VA Hospital visit of the New Year, a total 12 volunteers participating FRA 90, American Legion Post 51, VFW Post 12119, DAV Chapter 13 and Elks Lodge 1468. 21 VA patients on the sixth floor received a Bed Side visit. Many were offered crocheted blankets, toiletries and gift cards for the Patriot Store. It was an afternoon with a few war stories, jokes and best wishes for the New Year. From the smiles on the faces of the patients, the time spent was rewarding and appreciated.

21 DEC 25 FRA Branch # 90 Meeting Leatherneck Club LV

At 1400 the Branch meeting was called to Order, opening ceremonies observed and November’s minutes were approved. During the meeting, items were discussed like funding support for Clark County SC Navy JROTC Spring trip to visit USS Midway. Also, continuing support with monthly visits at VA North Las Vegas. Before the meeting ended, a open discussion on fund-raising efforts which may partnerships with local restaurants. Complete minutes are posted for reference. Next Meeting 18 JAN 26 @ 1400
2025 Toys for Tots Leatherneck Club of Las Vegas

Toys for Tots 2025 in full effect. The Leatherneck Club has served as an official toy collection site for new, unwrapped toys to fill the drop-off boxes. Get out in your community and be part of the solution. Semper Fidelis.

The monthly meeting of the FRA Branch # 90 was held at the Leatherneck Club at 1400, many items were discussed. Shipmate Smith, thanked at group for donation and volunteering at the recent Visually Impaired Veterans Golf Tournament. President Levine reported the recent VA visit was well received and a success. Shipmate Way announced the National FRA Convention will be held in Las Vegas in 2026 scheduled for 27 SEP to 3 OCT. Next Meeting 21 DEC 1400. Note: Complete minutes will be posted after approval.
8 NOV 25 Navy 250th Birthday Brunch hosted by Elks Lodge #2802

A Navy 250th Birthday Brunch was hosted by the Elks Lodge #2802 in Henderson for future, active, veterans of Coast Guard, Marines and Navy. We were honored to have young men and women in the US Marine Delayed Entry Program who are waiting for ship dates to start their Marine Enlistment. The Elks want to recognize and thank the three seagoing services.
During opening remarks, we found out about the good work the Elks do within the community. A patriotic and enjoyable brunch that was attended by a few 1076’ers, FRA also Phil Webb, who enjoyed sitting with the Marine Candidates. Well Done !!

13 OCT 25 FRA B 90 Celebrate the Navy 250th Birthday at Veterans Home Boulder City, NV













The Fleet Reserve Association Branch 90 hosted a cake party commemorating the 235 Birthday of the Coast Guard and Purple Heart Day


The Fleet Reserve Association Branch 90 hosted a cake party commemorating the 235 Birthday of the Coast Guard and Purple Heart Day. Members of VVA 1076 volunteered as well as Commander Ken Gonzalez, Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 730. The party started with FRA President Jed Levine leading the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. CG Veteran Rick Kaufmann Welcomed and Thanked the residents for their service. Rick spoke about the history Coast Guard, Commander Gonzalez spoke about the importance of remembering our heroes and the history of the Purple Heart. Two cakes were then displayed and cut. The first cut was by a 27-year RM CG Vet then Ken with a Purple Heart Veteran cut the other Cake. Attending the celebration was 1076’s Ann Sweat , who was all smiles with a visit from her friends. FRA will be back to celebrate the Navy birthday in November. The FRA is proud to host these events with assistance from other Veterans’ groups as well as the staff from the home. Well Done !!

5 AUG 24 Coast Guard Birthday & Purple Heart Day
To celebrate the Coast Guards Birthday and Purple Heart Day, the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 90 Las Vegas hosted a Cake and Ice Cream Social at the Boulder City Veterans Home. The FRA donated the cakes. Fanny Butler, Activities Director coordinated the Boulder City Veterans Home Staff with the room set up and cake cutting. The Cakes were prepared by the bakery at Vons, Windmill and Bermuda.
